Abstract

This thesis aims to find out the perception of word web method. The focuses on the students’ perception on the use of word web technique effective to improve students’ vocabulary mastery. The subject of the study is first grade of one of junior high school in Bojonegoro. This study uses qualitative descriptive method. To collect the data, the study uses classroom observation, questionnaire, and documentation. In analyzing the data, The data to be analyzed are obtained from the second part of the checklist because they provide a direct description of the students’ perception on the use of word web technique to improve vocabulary mastery. The data analysis technique employed in the study is descriptive qualitative to describe the students’ perception on the use of word web technique to improve vocabulary mastery. The result of the study shows that the researcher asked the students’ perception on the use of word web method. A wide range of students responded to the survey. Some students agreed with the use of word web technique, whereas others did not. The following are the samples of data obtained from the students who agreed with the use of word web method in vocabulary mastery. These data were taken from the second part of the checklist. The data presented in table 6 were obtained from the second part of the data found in the checklist. All of the students’ opinion about the use of word web technique were summarized and presented in the table. From the table there were only 16% of the 31 students disagreed with the effectiveness of word web method, and 3% chose not to express any opinion. While 87% of the 31 students agreed with the use of word web method. In conclusion, most of the students agree that using word web technique is very effective in vocabulary mastery.
