Abstract

Ramadhani Delia (2021)The Using of Picture of Map to Improve Students Speaking Competence in Senior High Schools.Thesis: English Education Department. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. University of Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya. Advisor: Edi Pujo Basuki, M.Pd. This research was conducted to find whether picture of map media can improve the speaking of the student at 10 th grade in senior high school at Bangil and describe how the implementation picture of map media in teaching giving direction . This study uses a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design. students’ Speaking at the 10th Grade in MA Bangil had a positive result and improved their speaking competence after applying picture of map as a media in learning English as a Foreign Language. The Research finding,showed in cycle 1 the score increased from 66 to 68 but this result had not enough or pass the succeed criteria,So the writer and teacher English agree to continued to cycle 2.In cycle 2,by repaired the picture better and the clear voices the writer as a teacher,the score increased from 68 to 73.But a score not enough to pass success criteria,so it was continue to held cycle 3,in this cycle 3 by repaired student’s speaking, the writer more ask student to active speak in front of class with using picture of map as media to easily them, the score increased from 73 to 78.And the result was this research was categorized succeed because the student’s score was 78,and this passed the succeed criteria.
