Abstract

The study of the effectiveness of the show and tell and role play learning model on speaking skills in seventh grade junior high school students. Role play as a teaching model which is a conscious exercise and discussion of the roles in groups. While, show and tell refers to the practice in which students communicate oral narrative about objects or experiences that students have. On this occasion, this research aims to find out the effectiveness of the two learning models and which one is more effective. This study uses quantitative methods. The data of this research are number from the learning results of students’ show and tell and role play models. The collected data will be tested using an independent sample T-test. The results showed that the two learning models were effectively used for seventh grade students, and the more effective one for seventh grade students was show and tell.
