Abstract

This research focused on the school which does not provide English lessons to the. The school also analyses the needs of the community through the culture it adheres to. In this research, the researcher wants to find out the impact of Madurese culture on the Second Language Acquisition of English for Young Learners at SDN Lenteng Barat II, Sumenep Madura using sociocultural theory according to Vygotsky's perspective. This research is descriptive qualitative research using a case study method with three data collection techniques. There are interviews, questionnaires and observations. Data Analysis techniques of this research are data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion or verification. From the research result, there are several difficulties encountered by students in accepting English as a second language, there are 1) No Habit, 2) No Cultural Support, 3) No environmental support and and 4) No Motivation from students. Based on the conclusions the researcher has the following suggestions are: 1) There needs to be socializing and a good approach to students and the community regarding the importance of learning English. 2) As an English teacher, should understand the culture that develops in the community to adapt in developing English learning methods.
