Abstract

Based on the focus of the study, the purpose of this study is to determine students'' perspective to new habits in speaking Indonesian combined with English language. This research was conducted using qualitative descriptive methods to analyze students'' perceptions of the use of language mixing as part of social phenomena in education. Because the data for analysis is in the form of words, phrases, and sentences, this study uses a qualitative approach. The purpose of this study is to describe students'' perceptions of the use of language mixing to improve vocabulary memorization. Finally, when dealing with suggestions from students, evidence shows that students neutrally suggest that the use of code switching in everyday language is well done with knowledge and sentence structuring well. like one of their phrases "Indonesian and English have in common their importance. Indonesian important as our language is everyday English is important to learn technological advances that generally speak English" this is enough to prove that the use of speaking habits can be done well as long as it is in accordance with the function of the word and the purpose of the sentence to be conveyed.Based on the results of the analysis of this study can be generalized as follows. In fact, students like that the habit of using code switching can become commonplace in order to see the progress of the language in Indonesia. As it was found that most students agree with the mixing of languages using this method of code switching although there are a small number of others who do not agree with the existence of it. This is enough to prove that the use of speaking habits can be done well as long as it is in accordance with the function of the word and the purpose of the sentence to be conveyed.
