Abstract

Imroatul Qoniah (4330017024). Solving Communication Barriers with Vocabulary Acquisition in A Deaf Child Portrayed in Helen Keller’s The Story of My Life. Thesis: English Education Department. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. University of Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya. Advisor : Mujad Didien Afandi, S.S., M.Pd. Children who are deaf suffer from hearing loss. Deaf youngsters face communication difficulties as a result of this scenario. The lack of vocabulary in deaf children is a problem. The goal of this study is to improve the vocabulary mastery of deaf children in Helen Keller's novel "The Story of My Life." This study is a form of qualitative study. The novel of "The Story of My Life" by Helen Keller is the source data for this study. Additionally, this information was gathered through the use of a library research. This information was gathered based on communication barriers and vocabulary acquisition in Helen Keller's novel "The Story of My Life."
