Abstract

Writing is one of English skills that is very essential to master. It is also related to the other English skills such as listening, speaking, and reading because they are all interrelated. However, writing is the most difficult skill of English because of its complexity which involves many other aspects of language such as grammar, vocabulary, conception, and rhetoric. This complexity makes English learners especially English as foreign language learners feel even more difficult to develop their writing skill. As this difficulty, no wonder if there are many learners who make errors when they are learning English writing. Based on the problems above, this study will be conducted to analyse the students' difficulty when they write an English text. The objectives of this study are: (1) To find out the grammatical errors made by the students in writing recount text, (2) To find out the types of error made by the students' recount text.
