Abstract
Children's fine motor skills have not developed optimally because the selection of activities for children is less attractive, and stimulation is not appropriate. To improve fine motor skills, the teacher must provide interesting activities that make the child active, which is in this research by tracing activities. The purpose of this study was to find out whether tracing activities can improve the fine motor skills of children aged 3-4 years in the PPT Kreatif of Dukuh Pakis District of Surabaya School.
The research method is Class Action Research. The subjects of this study were 3-
4 year old children as many as 15 children. Data collection techniques were observation and documentation techniques. The data analysis technique was qualitative descriptive technique.
The results showed that in the 3-4 year old children at PPT Kreatif Surabaya, fine motor skills of children increased after stimulating of tracing activities. In the pre cycle the average value was 64.16% which was in the Developing Criteria for Expectation (BSH), when the first cycle increased to 73.32%, and experienced an increase in the second cycle to 91.66% which was in the Very Good Developing criteria ( BSB).
Based on the results of this study indicate that tracing activities can improve the fine motor skills of children aged 3-4 years in the PPT Kreatif of Dukuh Pakis District of Surabaya School. For this result, it is recommended to teachers, to be more creative in choosing learning activities and also learning media to improve fine motor skills.
