Special needs students come from many diverse and different family backgrounds.
This may become the factor of special needs student learning performance. The
purposes of this study are to find out how family background can affect special needs
student in Pronunciation mastery and to find out the process of special needs student
in Pronunciation mastery. This study is a descriptive qualitative study by using the
case study method with three data collection techniques. They are interview,
observation, and documentation. This becomes a unique single case study because
the object of the study is an ASD student who success continues his study until
college and he has good English Pronunciation. The result of the study is found that
the most influential factor that can affect ASD's Pronunciation mastery is family
motivation. The term motivation here is the desire from the parents who want to
develop their skills and also motivation to develop their special needs child. The
parents hope that their special needs child can be Independence with their skills. This
ASD student has special unique repetitive behavior that is checking an English word
through Google Translate. He often listens how to pronounce
